International students and visitors who come to Los Angeles for a
short period of time (1 to 12 months) will be pleased with our friendly
and outstanding personal service. Whether you are a student looking for
an inexpensive spare room within a family environment or a visitor
seeking an affordable bed and breakfast, we hope that you will enjoy
what we have to offer. Rest assured, we want you to know that as a
family we have been hosting students from all over the world for more
than two years. We ONLY HOST FEMALE STUDENTS.
We have families that are located near Cal State Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, El Camino College.
If
your goal is to learn English we now have many schools in our area that
offer ESL CLASSES FOR ALL LEVELS. We now have ESL and Room Packages
that we can now offer students who wish to learn English and stay with
us. Students can take classes in Beverly Hills or you may take them
walking distance from our home. ALL OF THESE Schools offer classes
that focus on English: reading, writing, listening and speaking
skills. Lawson's Home stay also offers as part of this package online
interactive tutoring. Our interactive tutoring sessions help students
with reading,spelling, grammar, and writing.
If students are interested in writing for TV and Film, classes in our
area start at $45 for 10 weeks, these classes start on November 24th
and end on March 8th. Students interested in classes like Dances of
the World, Dance as a Second Language, Piano, Volleyball, Self Defense,
Aerobics, Cheer leading, and Folk Dance can take all of these classes
near our home. The cost of these classes are $35 - $100 for 10 weeks.
We are located near Beverly Hills, Culver City, West Los Angeles,
Westwood, and Downtown Los Angeles. We provide an affordable
alternative to costly hotels and motels that can run any where from $85
a night up to $400 a night depending on location and specific
accommodations. Keep in mind those prices do not cover breakfast or
dinner. We understand that visiting Los Angeles, and living in Los
Angeles can be very costly and challenging. That is why we are here to
help you with getting around in this big city as well as provide you
with a SAFE, CLEAN, Family oriented atmosphere.
We live
in Los Angeles, California with our four children ages 0 to 16 years of
age. I am a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District. I am
an English teacher and an English Tutor. My husband Derek is a nurse at Cedars Sinai Hospital. Our daughter Aminah is in the
11th grade. Our son Ahmad is in the 7th grade. Our daughter Ava is 2,
and our daughter Autumn is 1.
We enjoy
having students from other countries come and stay with us. We feel
that the knowledge and interactions that we have with these students
make us better human beings. We hope that we will have a chance to
continue this multicultural exchange.
We are located
near several colleges. We are located near Santa Monica College. For
students who wish to go to this school, students can ride the SMC Big
Blue Bus which picks students up free of charge, this bus is walking
distance from our home. The Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Number 6 picks
up ONLY SMC students. This bus picks students up every 30 mins in the
morning and every 30 mins in the afternoon.
We are also
locted near UCLA. For students who wish to go to this school, students
can ride the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Number 12 with a pick up at
Robertson and Beverlywood. This bus cost 50 cents and it will take you
all the way to the campus. This bus runs all day with pick ups every
10-15 mins.
We are located near West Los Angelels
College. For students who wish to go to this school, students can ride
the Metro to get to this school.
